Cordico, Lexipol’s wellness solution for first responders, has been named a finalist in the Sacramento Region Innovation Awards in the Government, Civic and Mobility category. The awards recognize important and disruptive innovations in the region that have current and future impact on the industries they serve; winners are selected by a panel of leading technology and innovation experts.
Research studies compiled by the CDC have shown that first responders experience high rates of critical incidents, leading to mental and emotional health issues such as depression, suicidal ideation, anxiety and PTSD. Coupled with the stigma around mental health that exists in the public safety sector, first responders are often not equipped with the resources to effectively recognize and address these wellness concerns.
To help manage this problem, Cordico developed a wellness app tailored specifically to the needs of public safety personnel. It is designed to provide a host of critical resources to help first responders learn about the behavioral health issues they may be facing, build and maintain resilience, and connect with vetted therapists and peer support team members.
“We are honored to be named finalists in this competitive field of innovation,” said Cordico founder and president Dr. David Black. “Cordico is passionate about extending needed resources to public safety professionals who often focus on the wellness of those around them while pushing aside their own self-care and well-being.”
Winners will be announced on November 18 at the 2021 Sacramento Innovation Awards ceremony. View the list of finalists.
