Hosted by Madison (Wisconsin) Fire Lieutenant Aaron Zamzow and FireRescue1 Editor-in-Chief Janelle Foskett, “Better Every Shift” brings honest, kitchen-table conversations to the forefront—focusing on solutions, positivity and the realities of station life. The podcast features guests from across the fire service and explores topics ranging from industry news to leadership, wellness, and even pop culture, all with the aim of inspiring firefighters to improve themselves, their crews and the fire service industry as a whole.
The IAFF Media Awards recognize affiliates and journalists for exceptional work in communicating with members and the public, honoring reporting and photography that best portray professional firefighters and paramedics. This accolade highlights the podcast’s commitment to fostering meaningful discussions that resonate with fire service professionals on and off duty.
